Jacksonville rapper Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones, was shot and killed in Tampa on Sunday morning, police said.

Foolio was celebrating his 26th birthday when he was shot at a Holiday Inn hotel, according to his attorney, Lewis Fusco, who confirmed the rapper's death to News4JAX.

Police responded to the shooting at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday and found Foolio and three other victims with gunshot wounds, according to Tampa police.

Foolio was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police have not released any information about the suspect or suspects in the shooting.

Foolio was a rising star in the Jacksonville rap scene, with over 1 million followers on Instagram.

He was known for his hard-hitting lyrics and aggressive delivery.

Foolio's death is a loss to the Jacksonville community and the hip-hop world.
